Wildlife is a sensitive renewable natural resource to be used within reason for the benefit of the people.
Resources are the keystone of civilisation; the development of individual nations, and indeed entire economic / social systems, are dependent on their continued availability. Such a relationship is, however, not static; changes that occur in the economy / society of countries of the world have resulted in concomitant changes in the role of resources (and the environment). Currently, the consumption and degradation of resources is occurring at rates that are unsustainable, and this has consequential implications for humankind.
This course deals with some important areas of using the resources of the wild in some occasions such as food, trade, medicine and bush-meat. In addition to that, it deals with the importance of ecosystem management, ecotourism, restoration ecology and conservation of species…etc.
After graduation, students will have the ability obtained from this course to have some areas of interest to work with such as environmental biologist, wildlife management supervisor, wildlife research technician, wildlife analyst, park ranger and research assistant.
In addition, it deals with some principles of the conservation of wild species that are endangered, endemic, keystone and flagship species such as the giant panda. It deals also with ecotourism and restoration of destroyed, fragmented areas or ecology.- معلم: nizar hussein
