Electricity course includes the basic concepts of Electrical Engineering. The topics of first semester explain the basic atomic structure, voltage and current in terms of potential energy, electrical charge and time. The important rule is to measure the resistance of materials.

The next subject is DC circuit analysis and its theories. The K.VL. and K.C.L. applied first to show the relations of voltage and current in circuits. Also, these laws have to be done practically in laboratory experiments. Students can notice the small difference between theoretical and practical results. Mesh (loop), Node, superposition are the main theorems in circuit analysis to calculate current, voltage, power of elements.

The last part of electricity course is an introduction to the principles of Alternating Current and Voltage AC. It starts with the characteristics of AC equation (graph and Phasor diagram). In addition, it shows characteristics of capacitors and inductors that are used in AC circuits. The later topic is applying complex numbers in rectangular and polar forms to represents capacitive and inductive loads mathematically. The course covers DC and AC theorems and it involves some physic subjects. It will give students a good background to be ready for studying machines and generators that are required in Mechanical Engineering.
